DAY 1 – DEPART
Today we board our international flight to Edinburgh. Enjoy a complimentary meal served aboard your flight.
DAY 2 – WELCOME TO SCOTLAND – EDINBURGH
Your grand tour of Scotland begins in the medieval city of Edinburgh. Your guide and driver will greet you at the airport. Depending on your arrival time, you may have limited time and energy today. Spend the afternoon and early evening getting acquainted with Edinburgh. Enjoy a welcome dinner at your hotel.
DAY 3 – EDINBURGH
Start at Edinburgh Castle, the centerpiece of the city. This castle is one of Edinburgh’s most important historical sites and provides great views over the city. It’s a great starting point to really get to know Edinburgh. Spend the middle of the day strolling the Royal Mile, visiting places like the Scotch Whisky Experience, St. Giles Cathedral, the Camera Obscura, Real Mary King’s Close, and the Palace of Holyroodhouse. Finish at Arthur’s Seat, an extinct volcano with some of the best views over Edinburgh.
DAY 4 – EDINBURGH
Start your day at one of Edinburgh’s best museums. Your choices include The National Museum of Scotland, The Surgeon’s Hall Museum, the Scottish National Gallery, or the Royal Yacht Britannia. Visit the Old Town of Edinburgh, and area around Grassmarket and Victoria Street. There are many great shops and restaurants to try in this area. Spend the afternoon at Dean Village.
DAY 5 – STIRLING – PERTH – INVERNESS
Travel to Stirling, at the heart of its old town, medieval Stirling Castle sits on volcanic rock. Afterwards, we move on to Perth, a historic city set beside the beautiful River Tay. We finish off the day in Inverness, the largerst city and cultural capital of the Scottish Highlands. Overnight in Inverness.
DAY 6 – LOCH NESS – FORT WILLIAM – BEN NEVIS – GLENCOE
Today we make our way to Fort William, stopping in Loch Ness along the way. Fort William is known as a gateway to Ben Nevis, the U.K.’s highest peak. We will make a stop in Glencoe on our way to Oban as well. Overnight in Oban.
DAY 7 – OBAN – FIONNPHORT – IONA
Today we get an early morning start as we enjoy the beautiful views aboard the ferry to the Isle of Mull via Oban. We then make our way from Fionnphort to Iona, where we will visit Iona Abbey. Overnight in Oban.
DAY 8 – OBAN – INVERARAY – GLASGOW
Today we enjoy a scenic drive from Oban to Inverary Castle, on our way to Glasgow. Inverary Castle is the ancestral home of the Duke of Argyll and one of the earliest examples of Gothic Revival architecture in Scotland. Lastly, we make our way to Glasgow. Overnight in Glasgow.
DAY 9 – GLASGOW
Glasgow is often an overlooked destination in Scotland. Whereas Edinburgh is perfect for tourists, with its castle, medieval architecture, and historical background, Glasgow is a city centered around the people who live and work here. There are tons of options to fill your time in Glasgow. Visit beautiful museums, explore the parks, tour the art galleries, and go pub hopping. Enjoy a farewell dinner.
DAY 10 – RETURN
Today we board our return flight home. End of services.
